The Weekly Flight Briefing

EDTalksWeeklyFlightBrief - Ed Rush | Business Growth Acceleration Mentor, Speaker, Author - 5x #1 Bestselling Author, Speaker, Mentor, Advisor

Welcome to a new series called The Weekly Flight Briefing.

This series is intended to show you some fun ways to get to your dreams faster. Think of it as “Afterburner for Success.” Each week, I’ll share with you a few tips that can make a big difference for you, your business, and your life.

The key is simple. Just read what’s below and find ONE thing you’re going to take into implementation.

So here goes…

What I Am Reading

The Alter Ego Effect by Todd Herman. If you have confidence issues, if you have fears around personal promotion, or if you get stage fright, this book is for you. You will literally become a new you.

What I Am Focusing On Right Now

For those of you who read The 21-Day Miracle, you’ll remember that I believe in short bursts designed to create long habits.

Anyhoo, I just launched a 21-Day Miracle around 2 simple things:

  1. Fitness – 30 minutes a day of Kettlebells or Yoga.
  2. No Dairy / No Gluten

As for #1, I have had an “off and on” approach to fitness over the last month. Not good, Eduardo.

The goal is simple: get up in the morning and move for 30 minutes. Most days that means a good kettlebell workout. I have 5 kettlebells at home (2x25lb, 2x53lb, 1x70lb) and they’re a versatile way to get a fast workout. (BTW – if you want to find a good kettlebell trainer, I recommend Strong First. If you live in SD, email me and I’ll make an intro to my guy.)

Yoga you say?

Yup. Full disclosure, I am a total novice at yoga and I look like a dancing bear on a mat. But it’s basically impossible to carry kettlebells on a plane without triggering TSA. So, on the road, I’ve been using the Yoga Studio App.*

As for the dairy and gluten, it just had to be done. The other day I looked at myself in the mirror and saw someone who looked like he sat on a radiator while eating yeast. I always know it’s time to dial back the diet when people look at my book cover, then look at me, and ask, “IS this YOU?”

Sigh.

Latest Gadget / App / Doodlido

I am trying out a new app called Habit Bull. It’s a very simple app designed to track your goals on a daily / weekly basis. I like the interface and it works surprisingly well for 21-Day Miracle sprints.

YOUR Challenge of the Week

Ready for YOUR Challenge?
Take “The Want Challenge.”
For some reason, this video just got super popular on YouTube and I can only imagine it’s because of my Ron Burgundy Jacket.

That’s all for now. Talk next week.

Ed

P.S. Be sure to let me know how you are implementing. Unlike some other folks you follow, I actually really do read my emails.

P.P.S. I know it can be scary out there right now. I plan on sending you a post with my thoughts on the CoronaVirus. For now, just two things…

First, you have a beautifully designed immune system and you have almost definitely seen worse.

Second, fear about a virus can actually be worse than an actual virus. See below, take a deep breath, and smile…

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Out.

* No, I don’t wear yoga pants.
